Due to a budget shortfall the Oregon Conference found it necessary to restructure how pastors were assigned to the local churches. What that meant was that I now am responsible for three area churches. They are:
Eugene
Junction City
Santa Clara
My preaching schedule is:
Eugene - 2nd, 4th, 5th Sabbaths
Junction City - 1st Sabbath
Santa Clara - 3rd Sabbath
We are blessed to have a retired pastor (Del Johnson) who preaches on the second Sabbath of the month here at Junction City. On the third Sabbath another retired pastor (George Mellam) preaches and on the 4th Sabbath a lay-pastor preaches the sermon.

Election 2024
| November 7, 2024
In light of the 2024 election results I have one thing to say: “Praise the Lord!” … but so that there is no misunderstanding, I will add a clarification. I am not pleased with who won or who lost the vote. I am praising the Lord because God is in control of the affairs of man. I am thankful because year 2025 is right around the corner and we will be one year closer to the return of Jesus Christ to this earth.I am also thankful because the Lord dwells in heaven above and not in the ballot box on the street corner. I’m thankful that God is not a Republican or a Democrat. God’s name and His endorsement were often associated with the political platforms promoted this past year, but Jesus tells us, “My kingdom is not of this world”. That means God is big enough, wise enough, powerful enough to accomplish His purpose through whomever might be president of this country. I am confident that no matter who wins a presidential election God’s purposes will be accomplished.
God’s goal is not to, “Make America Great Again”. God’s desire is that we, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)

Hot Summer Sabbaths
| August 3, 2024Hot Summer Sabbaths!
We've had some very warm Sabbaths so far this summer. The church does not have air-conditioning, but thankfully, the Fellowship Hall does. When the weather is exceptionally warm you will find us having our worship service in Fellowship Hall so that we can be cool and comfortable. We invite you to come and join us for our time of worship and praise. Saturday mornings at 10:00am for our study time and at 11:00am for our sermon hour.

Goal met - Church repainted!
| September 26, 2020Thank you to all who faithfully gave to our Church Budget account ... which enabled us to paint the church this summer. It looks so nice!

Repainting The Church
| September 26, 2020We are nearing our goal for funds to be used for repainting the church. The south and west sides of the church are weathered and badly in need of a new coat of paint to protect the siding. We are confident that the Lord will bless with sufficient funds in order to have the painting done this fall before the rainy season begins. We would be delighted if you were willing to make a contribution to our Paint Fund so that we can complete this project this year.

Parking Lot Resurface
| May 13, 2019This past week our parking lot was resurfaced and restriped. It looks so nice and clean and it will extend the life of our parking area.
Our next project this summer will be to have our church repainted. It will be the same color. There are areas where the existing paint is beginning to peel off and so paint is needed to protect the siding from deterioration.
Once the paint job has been completed we will finish redoing the flower beds. When it's all done the property will really look nice!
What we need now is your help to pay for these projects. Your contributions will be appreciated. Our need is to raise $12,000 to pay for both of these projects.

First Sabbath of the Month
| October 4, 2018Beginning in the month of November I will be preaching at the JC church on the first Sabbath of the month. On the calendar the change actually began in October but I had to miss the first Sabbath because of my need to be at home to care for my wife who had knee replacement surgery that week.
I look forward to seeing you in November!

We Are Small
| September 4, 2018My first Sabbath preaching here at the JC church confirmed what I had heard about the church (I've not visited here previously). It's a very small congregation!
Some might be tempted to judge the quality of the congregation by it's size - thats ok if you believe that smaller is better. There are good people here at this church.
Others might say that our theology is flawed as evidenced by our few attenders. You wouldn't find Elijah making that argument. He claimed just the opposite (1Kings 19:10). He knew that numbers did not define correctness of doctrine.
Our small numbers only mean that we have not yet fully reached our community with the message of the purpose, the meaning, and the beauty of the Sabbath as God designed it and presented it to all of humanity. It truly is a hidden gem!
I believe that there is power and beauty in the message of the Sabbath. It reveals the truth about the love of God. It embraces God's plan for the restoration of mankind into his presence. Sabbath is about a relationship with our Creator God who redeems us, who transforms us, who renews us into His image.
My desire is for the Lord's blessings to fall upon the members of this Adventist church that through their connection with us others will come and join our fellowship and embrace the blessings that come from understanding the truth about who God really is.
Here is what I need from you, members of the JC Adventist Church. Pray for me! Pray that through my ministry God's blessings might flow out to this congregation and to the whole community. Pray that the lost of this community might come to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
And for any who might be curiously inquiring ... come and enjoy the fellowship and blessings here at the Junction City Seventh-day Adventist Church.
"And I will fill the soul of the priests with abundance, and my people shall be satisfied with My goodness," declares the Lord."
Jeremiah 31:14

Pastoral Change
| August 14, 2018The J.C. Adventist Church has recently been added to the Eugene Adventist Church to create a two-church district. I will be at Eugene three Sabbath's a month and at J.C. on the fourth Sabbath. I am looking forward to worshiping with the members of the church in Junction City.
